
Artist of the Month
Each month during Membership Meetings we have an Artist-of-the-Month competition featuring a different theme. (See below)
Members are encouraged to participate by bringin a piece of their art that reflects their take on that month's theme. The members present at the meeting are then asked to vote for their favorite and the winner is awarded Artist-of-the-Month.
A photo of the artist with their winning piece is featured in the lobby along with the title and a brief dexcription of the iece. These remain in the lobby until the following month's meeting.

April 2026 -
Lynn Foster
Lynn's original watercolor is titled “Bistro”. She painted this quite a while ago. Her inspiration came from perusing some travel brochures of Paris because she wishes to one day travel there.

March 2026 -
Debbe Tomkinson
Debbe's piece, "Rue De Paris". is an oil painting that was inspired by a photograph taken in Paris in January 2020. Debbe and her family were visiting Paris at a time when there was one of many train strikes so they were forced to walk everywhere on this cloudy and drizzly day. The photo that was the inspiration for the painting includes her daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren and is done in a limited palette of colors.

February 2026 - Joyce McAdams
Congratulations to NBAL member Joyce McAdams for winning the Artist of the Month for February 2026. The theme was "Asian Influences". Her winning piece is mixed media and was inspired by Asian culture and the spirit of nature.
The piece is titled “Spring Rain”

December 2025 - Julia Simonello
Congratulations to member, Julia Simonello for winning the Artist of the Month for December 2025.
The theme was "Assemblage Art". Her piece was originally created for Fifth Avenue Gallery’s “Lost and Found” show where participating artists were given cradle board and seven items to incorporate into the piece as well as adding items of their own.
The piece is titled “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear”

November 2025 - Jean McGann
Congratulations to NBAL member Jean M. for winning the Artist of the Month for November 2025. The theme was "Window/Doors". Her winning piece is a colored pencil drawing of a homeless man.
The piece is titled "Give Us This Day"

October 2025 - Nora Drown
Congratulations to NBAL member Nora Drown for winning the Artist of the Month for October 2025. The theme was "Painting without Brushes". Her winning painting is entiled "Happy Face"

September 2025 - Debbe Tomkinson
Congratulations to NBAL member Debbe Tomkinson for winning the Artist of the Month for September 2025. The theme was "Travels Abroad". Her winning painting is entiled "Girl with Dog"
